Information Sessions Scheduled for Next Week

July 1, 2021 – For Immediate Release

In 2019, several local towns, villages, and cities joined the MEGA Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program. Through this program, electricity rates were locked in for all eligible residents and there was access to 100% renewable electricity. Anyone who wished to opt-out was able to do so without a penalty.

 

The Village of Horseheads, along with 11 other communities, has opted to renew this program for eligible residents and small businesses. View a short video update here.

 

The renewal will take place in September with a grid mix fixed rate of $.05365 per kWh.

Anyone that has already opted-out of the CCA program will not be re-enrolled. All eligible residents will receive a notification letter in July and the new CCA fixed rate will remain in effect thru your July 2023 billing cycle.

For those currently participating in the CCA program: For just the months of July and August, you will be switched back to the NYSEG variable electric supply rate.  The new CCA fixed rate will take effect for the September billing cycle, with Constellation New Energy as your supplier.

Default (Grid Mix) Fixed Rate:

$.05365 per kWh

Opt-Up Green Fixed Rate:

$.06415 per kWh for a 100% renewable electricity supply
